The process is simple!
If
you're looking for sharp, clear photos of your products, it's
as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Fill out the form
Click here to download the order form. If you have specific
ideas for the posing of your products, be sure to include
them in the "special instructions" section of the
form. Don't forget to include your e-mail address so we can
let you know when your proofs are ready to be reviewed!
2.
Send your products
Send the form with your products and payment to the address
on the form. Be sure to include costs for return shipping
if you want your products returned.
3. Review the proofs
When your proofs are ready, we will upload watermarked copies
to the web and send an e-mail with their location to you.
Just review the proofs and let us know which ones you want.
If you are receiving the images electronically, we will provide
an Internet address where you can download the files. Otherwise,
we will burn the images to CD and send them to you.
If you want more images in the proofs than you originally
paid for, you can order as many as you'd like and pay online
using paypal or send the payment by mail.
That's all there
is to it!

What
can you do with the photos?
Your product shots will offer you a variety
of display options, beyond the simple white background. Your
graphic designer can modify the photos (change the background
or put in drop shadows) or I can do that for you for an additional
charge. The flashlight picture to your right was originally
set against a white background, then cut out and dropped over
a colorful, textured backdrop for a dramatic effect. You can
also have text or logos placed on the image.
The images are delivered to you in industry-standard
raster (bitmap) file formats so they can be manipulated with
virtually any graphics program.
Printing
and cropping
You receive two versions of your product picture:
a smaller version that allows easy manipulation for web pages,
and a full size version. The large copy of your image is big
enough so that it can be used in a print catalog or advertising
brochure. Also, small portions can be cropped out to show
detail on a web page or in an on-screen presentation.
How
big is the large (TIFF) version of your image? If you've
ever tried to print a small picture, you've probably seen
that an image which looks good on the screen looks distorted
and "jaggy" when printed out. This is because your
printer has a much higher resolution than your monitor; an
on-screen image just doesn't have enough dots to satisfy the
printer's greater demands.
You won't experience this problem with your
product images - the TIFF version of your photo has "dots
to spare." How big is the TIFF version? Click the
picture of the ethernet card above to see an example. Be patient
- It's a big file that will take awhile to download! Look
again at the picture of the ethernet card above. See
the small red box? To your left is that tiny portion
of the Ethernet card photo, taken from the TIFF version at
actual size. You can see that the large photo allows you plenty
of flexibility to crop out small sections of the shot
that are still large enough to display on screen. Note: For
large-size prints or 4-color printing environments, your image's
resolution can be increased further using Genuine Fractals.
Your graphic designer may be able to do this, or I can do
it for an additional charge.
Regardless what your application, you have
full control over what you do with the images. The product
photos are royalty-free, so you can use them in whatever application
you'd like, as often as you'd like.
* Please note: There are some limitations
on the types of products eligible for these rates. These limitations
are pretty much common sense - pictures of animals, hazardous
items such as firearms, and large products involve more labor
and don't qualify for the special pricing. Please refer to
the terms of service on the order form to see if your products
qualify.
