The 'Author' in my name
I chose the name Website Author because I was
a freelance writer for many years before entering the web
design business. I've published more than 65 articles (over
100,000 words) in a variety of nationally distributed magazines,
including Writer's Digest and Boy's Life.
I've also developed various training documents and a broad
range of marketing communications, from direct mail letters
to brochures and newsletters to product catalogs, for over
a decade.

Web design background
I have been designing web sites since 1997.
Currently I am employed as a web developer for a publicly
traded company in Richardson, where my responsibilities include
developing and maintaining the company's Intranet. These responsibilities
include the development of content, graphics, photographs,
and web pages. I also work regularly with the integration
of databases (SQL and Microsoft Access) and Flash animations,
as well as various ASP-based enhancements and applications.
 Photography
Along with the freelance writing, I've been
an avid photographer for 20 years. As part of your site's
development I can provide excellent quality photographic support
to showcase your business in a manner you'll be proud of.
I currently use a high-end prosumer digital camera; since
digital photos don't require processing, printing, and scanning,
I can shoot at a substantially lower cost than with film photography.
I pass these savings along to you. Further, by doing the photography
as I develop the site, I can "focus" (pun intended)
the shots to what the site will need and optimize the images
for web display. You'll find the photographic services I provide,
particularly in conjunction with web development, to be extremely
responsive, flexible, and more than competitive in terms of
price.
